TEMPORARY INCREASE IN PORK MAV, LOWER IMPORT TARIFFS TO ENSURE ADEQUATE AND AFFORDABLE FOOD SUPPLY – NEDA

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) supports the temporary increase in the minimum access volume (MAV) for pork from 54,210 to 404,210 metric tons, coupled with lower tariffs, to help fill the supply deficit, reduce food prices, and ensure our food supply is adequate and affordable.

MANILA – An easing of inflationary pressures, especially on food following the recent signing of the law that modernizes the rice industry in the country, bodes well for overall manufacturing growth, the National Economic and Development Authority said as manufacturing output figures for January 2019 were released.
