MANILA – Rice tariffication will directly benefit both farmers and the poor through lower rice prices and increased government assistance to the agricultural sector, the National Economic and Development Authority said.
P5 BILLION ALREADY RELEASED TO PROTECT RICE FARMERS
Budget Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno said on Tuesday that PhP5 billion has already been released under the 2018 national budget to protect farmers from possible adverse effects of the lifting of the Minimum Access Volume (MAV) on rice.
